In my opinion, this is in the top 10 of silver coins made by the New Zealand Mint. The artist, engraver and Mint all must have a great sense of humour -- the detail in this coin is amazing! And to touch it off, it appears (to me) the Mint added a titch of copper on the porthole, to give it the brass shine that portholes have. It's definitely one of my favourite coins in my collection... I have 2 of them I liked them so much.
I tried to capture colours and dimension with my photos using different positions and different lighting but they're not very good compared to seeing it live and in person. I do think I captured the details though. If you're not a Shark Week fan, you may not care about this coin.
But, you may know someone that's a fan or better still, it's a great conversation piece at the supper table, or awkward moments at a party. It's a real ice breaker and does get people talking and mingling.
